We are looking for a Janitor, or custodian, to take care of our Daycare Center by carrying out cleaning and maintenance duties after the school closes (630pm onwards) on a daily basis (M-F) at The Learning Experience Jackson NJ for approximately 4 hours a night.
The goal is to keep our building in a clean and orderly condition by following the daily, weekly and monthly checklists.
Responsibilities
- Clean and supply designated building (dusting, sweeping, vacuuming, mopping, cleaning ceiling vents, restroom cleaning, emptying of trash etc)
- Perform and document routine inspection and maintenance activities
- Carry out heavy cleansing tasks and special projects (strip and wax, carpet shampooing)
- Notify management of occurring deficiencies or needs for repairs
- Make adjustments and minor repairs
- Stock and maintain supply rooms
- Cooperate with the rest of the staff
- Follow all health and safety regulations
Requirements
- Proven working experience as a janitor
- Ability to handle heavy equipment and machinery (Buffer + carpet cleaner)
- Knowledge of cleaning chemicals and supplies
- Familiarity with Material Safety Data Sheets
- Integrity and ability to work independently
Compensation: $20.00 - $23.00 per hour
