Job Title: Facility Manager 


Responsibilities:
 

  1. Maintenance and Operations: 
  • Ensure the proper maintenance, operation, and functionality of all aspects of the facility, including mechanical systems (minor plumbing, minor electrical), grounds, and overall building infrastructure. 
  • Develop and implement preventive maintenance programs to minimize downtime and ensure efficient operation. 
  • Coordinate repairs and renovations as needed, ensuring compliance with safety and environmental regulations. 
  1. Space Management: 
  • Plan and allocate space within the facility to maximize its usage and efficiency. 
  • Coordinate office moves, relocations, and rearrangements to accommodate organizational needs. 
  1. Health and Safety Compliance: 
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and standards. 
  • Implement safety programs and protocols, conduct regular inspections, and address any safety concerns promptly. 
  1. Budgeting and Cost Control: 
  • Develop and manage the facility's budget, including operating expenses, capital expenditures, and cost-saving initiatives. 
  • Obtain competitive bids and manage contracts for services such as cleaning, maintenance, and security. 
  1. Security and Emergency Preparedness: 
  • Oversee security measures and protocols to safeguard the facility, its assets, and personnel. 
  • Develop and implement emergency preparedness plans and procedures, including evacuation plans and crisis management protocols. 
  1. Environmental Sustainability: 
  • Implement environmentally sustainable practices and initiatives within the facility. 
  • Identify opportunities for energy conservation, waste reduction, and recycling programs. 
  1. Vendor and Contractor Management: 
  • Select and manage vendors, contractors, and service providers. 
  • Negotiate contracts, ensure service level agreements are met, and oversee vendor performance. 
  1. Communication and Coordination: 
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for facility-related issues and inquiries. 
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders such as department heads, executives, and employees to understand and address their facility needs. 
  1. Items you would be responsible around the centers: 
  • Painting (Classrooms, Doors, etc.) 
  • Chaning light bulbs 
  • Organizing storage areas.  
  • Managing a maintenance excel 
  • Vent cleaning 
  • Emergency light test 
  • Moving and/or building furniture 
  • Small repair work (Fixing locks, wall repairs, caulking, etc.) 
 
 

Qualifications:
 

  • Proven experience in facility management or related roles, with demonstrated leadership and organizational skills. 
  • Knowledge of building systems, codes, and regulations. 
  • Strong communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills. 
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and work effectively under pressure. 

Additional Skills (Preferred):
 

  • Certification in Facility Management (CFM) or similar credentials. 
  • Experience with facility management software and systems. 
  • Familiarity with sustainable practices and green building certifications (LEED, BREEAM, etc.). 

Working Conditions:
 

  • The facility manager typically works in the centers. You will be traveling to all locations ensuring the above is complete and up to the executive board's standards. 
  • Occasional evening or weekend work may be required to oversee projects or respond to emergencies.

Compensation: $60,000.00 - $80,000.00 per year
