Assistant Infant Teacher – The Learning Experience of Astoria

The Learning Experience of Astoria is seeking a caring, reliable, and dedicated Assistant Infant Teacher to join our team full-time. We are looking for someone who genuinely loves working with infants, understands the importance of early nurturing, and is eager to support the lead teacher in creating a warm, developmentally appropriate classroom environment.

About the Role
As an Assistant Infant Teacher, you will work closely with the Lead Infant Teacher to support the daily care, routines, and learning experiences of our infants. The ideal candidate is someone who brings patience, enthusiasm, and a strong work ethic to the classroom, along with prior experience working with very young children.

Qualifications

  • Prior experience in early childhood education is required

  • High school diploma required

  • Must meet New York State requirements for working in early childhood programs


Responsibilities

  • Support the Lead Infant Teacher with daily routines such as feeding, diapering, napping, and comforting infants

  • Assist in creating and maintaining a clean, safe, and organized classroom

  • Help implement simple, age-appropriate activities that support developmental growth

  • Observe and communicate infants’ needs to the Lead Teacher and families

  • Maintain positive, caring interactions with each child throughout the day

  • Work collaboratively with staff to uphold The Learning Experience’s standards of care and professionalism
