Responsibilities:
- Prepare and cook nutritious meals and snacks in accordance with dietary guidelines
- Maintain a clean, organized kitchen, following all food safety and sanitation standards
- Plan weekly menus that meet the nutritional needs and preferences of children
- Collaborate with staff to accommodate allergies and special dietary restrictions
- Monitor inventory and order supplies to maintain a well-stocked kitchen
- Engage positively with children during mealtimes to encourage healthy eating habits
- Assist in training and supervising kitchen support staff as needed
- Participate in center events and activities to enhance the culinary experience
Requirements:
- Previous experience as a cook or in a similar role (childcare or school setting preferred)
- Knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices
- Ability to create balanced menus that meet nutritional standards
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
- Food Handler’s Certification or willingness to obtain
- Passion for working with children and promoting healthy lifestyles
- Flexibility to support kitchen needs as they arise

Compensation: $17.00 - $20.00 per hour
