Position Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Assistant UPK Teacher to support our Universal Pre-K classroom. The Assistant UPK Teacher works collaboratively with the Lead UPK Teacher to implement curriculum, maintain classroom routines, and ensure a safe, engaging, and positive learning environment that supports the developmental needs of four-year-old children.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent (required)

  • Coursework in Early Childhood Education, CDA, or Associate’s Degree (preferred)

  • Experience working with preschool or pre-kindergarten aged children required

  • Ability to meet all state UPK, licensing, and TLE requirements

  • CPR/First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain)

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the Lead UPK Teacher in implementing daily lesson plans and curriculum activities

  • Assist with classroom management, transitions, and daily routines

  • Help prepare materials and learning centers aligned with UPK standards

  • Actively engage children in learning through play, discussion, and hands-on activities

  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized classroom environment

  • Observe children’s behavior and development and communicate observations to the Lead Teacher

  • Support positive behavior guidance and social-emotional development

  • Follow all health, safety, and licensing regulations

  • Communicate professionally with families and team members

  • Participate in staff meetings, trainings, and professional development opportunities

Compensation: $16.00 - $17.00 per hour
