The Learning Experience in Schertz is seeking a dependable, detail-oriented Custodian to help maintain a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for our children, families, and staff. Cleanliness and safety are a top priority in early childhood education, and this role plays a critical part in keeping our center operating at the highest standards.

This position is responsible for daily cleaning, sanitation, light maintenance, and safety checks throughout the facility. The ideal candidate takes pride in their work, works independently, and understands the importance of maintaining a healthy environment for young children.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform daily visual safety checks inside the building and around the playground and exterior areas
 • Immediately report any safety concerns or maintenance issues to center leadership
 • Collect and remove trash daily from classrooms, offices, restrooms, and common areas
 • Clean and disinfect sinks, toilets, tables, door handles, light switches, cubbies, and frequently touched surfaces
 • Wipe down and sanitize classroom furniture including tables, chairs, and shelving
 • Sweep, vacuum, and mop all floors in classrooms, hallways, offices, kitchen, and entryways
 • Vacuum carpets and rugs throughout the center
 • Thoroughly clean and disinfect all restrooms daily
 • Ensure soap, paper towels, and toilet paper dispensers are stocked at all times
 • Clean and disinfect office equipment including keyboards, phones, and copiers
 • Monitor cleaning supplies and notify leadership when inventory is low
 • Keep hallways, entrances, and exits clear and safe at all times
 • Inspect furniture and equipment for wear or damage and report concerns promptly

Qualifications

• 2 years or more of custodial experience required
 • Ability to follow sanitation and health guidelines in a childcare setting
 • Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently
 • Reliable, punctual, and able to maintain confidentiality
 • Comfortable working around young children and staff throughout the day
