Part-Time Daycare Janitor / Childcare Center Custodian

The Learning Experience is seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Part-Time Janitor / Custodian to help maintain a clean, safe, and sanitary childcare environment for our students, staff, and families. This role is essential in supporting daily operations by ensuring classrooms, common areas, and restrooms meet the highest standards of cleanliness, sanitation, and health compliance.

The ideal candidate takes pride in creating a welcoming environment and understands the importance of maintaining clean and hygienic spaces in an early childhood education setting.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform daily cleaning and sanitizing of classrooms, hallways, restrooms, offices, and common areas

  • Sweep, mop, vacuum, and disinfect floors and surfaces

  • Clean and sanitize toys, furniture, and high-touch surfaces following childcare health and safety standards

  • Empty trash and recycling throughout the building

  • Restock cleaning supplies, paper towels, soap, and restroom materials

  • Assist with deep cleaning tasks such as windows, baseboards, and play areas

  • Support licensing compliance and sanitation standards required for childcare centers

  • Maintain organized janitorial storage areas and cleaning equipment

  • Assist staff with maintaining a safe and orderly facility environment

Qualifications

  • Previous experience in janitorial, custodial, or cleaning services preferred

  • Experience working in schools, daycares, childcare centers, or educational facilities is a plus

  • Ability to work independently and manage cleaning tasks efficiently

  • Reliable, punctual, and detail-oriented

  • Ability to lift up to 30 pounds and perform physical cleaning duties

  • Must be able to pass required background checks for working in a childcare environment

Schedule

Part-time hours.
Typical schedule may include evenings or late afternoon shifts, depending on center needs. May evolve into full time position in the future to include kitchen support responsibility.
