Position Summary:
We are seeking a dependable and caring Preschool Cook to prepare nutritious, child-friendly meals for our daycare/preschool community. This role is essential in supporting the health and well-being of young children by ensuring meals are safe, balanced, and prepared in accordance with North Carolina sanitation and childcare regulations.

Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare and serve breakfast, lunch, and snacks for the entire school in a timely manner
- Plan and follow approved menus that meet nutritional guidelines for young children
- Adhere strictly to North Carolina sanitation, food safety, and childcare licensing requirements
- Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary kitchen environment at all times
- Monitor food inventory and manage food orders, ensuring adequate supplies are available
- Properly store food and label items according to safety standards
- Accommodate food allergies and dietary restrictions with care and attention
- Work collaboratively with teachers and staff to support daily schedules and special events
- Demonstrate strong problem-solving skills in a fast-paced environment
- Communicate effectively with team members regarding kitchen needs and concerns
- Supervise and document food temperatures and safety logs as required
- Dish washing, cleaning, and general kitchen upkeep
- Be flexible in assisting with bathroom breaks or lunch breaks for staff as needed
- Ensure compliance with all health inspections and licensing visits
Qualifications:
- Previous experience in food service, childcare, or institutional cooking preferred
- Knowledge of basic nutrition and food safety practices
- Familiarity with North Carolina sanitation and childcare regulations (or willingness to learn)
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Strong organizational and time-management skills
- Reliable, punctual, and able to manage multiple tasks efficiently
- Positive attitude and genuine care for children’s well-being
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to stand for extended periods
- Ability to lift up to 15 pounds
- Comfortable working in a kitchen environment with varying temperatures

Compensation: $14.00 - $15.00 per hour
