Assistant Teacher – Early Childhood Classroom
The Learning Experience – South Lyon West is seeking a dependable Assistant Preschool Teacher to support our preschool classroom serving children ages 3–5. This role helps create a structured and engaging learning environment where children develop independence, confidence, and early academic skills.
This position is ideal for someone who enjoys working with young learners and supporting classroom routines alongside a Lead Teacher.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist with daily classroom routines for preschool-aged children
- Support learning activities that promote early literacy, math readiness, and social development
- Help maintain a safe, clean, and organized classroom environment
- Guide children through transitions including meals, rest time, and learning centers
- Prepare classroom materials and support small-group instruction
- Communicate professionally with families and teaching team members
- Follow Michigan childcare licensing requirements and center policies
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required
- Prior preschool or childcare experience preferred
- Strong teamwork and communication skills
- Dependable and attentive approach to supporting young children
- Must meet Michigan childcare licensing requirements
