- Implement age-appropriate lesson plans and activities that promote cognitive, social, and emotional development
- Create a safe, nurturing, and engaging classroom environment for children
- Monitor and document child progress, behavior, and milestones
- Communicate regularly and effectively with parents and guardians regarding their child's development
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe classroom in compliance with licensing and health standards
- Collaborate with fellow teachers and staff to support a positive learning community
- Supervise children during indoor and outdoor activities, meals, and transitions
- High school diploma or GED required; associate's or bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education or related field preferred
- Previous experience in a childcare, preschool, or early education setting preferred
- Knowledge of child development principles and age-appropriate teaching strategies
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills with children, parents, and staff
- CPR and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain)
- Ability to pass a background check in accordance with state childcare licensing requirements
- Patient, compassionate, and enthusiastic demeanor with a genuine love for working with children
