Assistant Teacher – Daycare & Preschool
Location: The Learning Experience – Grand Rapids Cascade, MI
Pay: $16–$18 per hour (based on experience and credentials)

The Learning Experience – Grand Rapids Cascade is looking for an enthusiastic and dependable Assistant Teacher to support our early childhood classrooms.
Whether you already have childcare experience or are looking to continue building your career in early childhood education, this position offers the opportunity to work alongside experienced teachers while making a meaningful difference in children's lives every day.
What You'll Do
- Assist Lead Teachers with classroom activities, routines, and transitions
- Engage children in play-based learning, art, music, sensory activities, and outdoor experiences
- Support children's language, social-emotional, physical, and cognitive development
- Assist with meals, diapering/toileting, rest time, and other daily care routines
- Provide attentive supervision and positive guidance
- Maintain a safe, clean, and organized classroom environment
- Build warm relationships with children and families
- Work collaboratively with teachers and center leadership
- Follow Michigan childcare licensing requirements
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED required
- Previous experience working in daycare, preschool, childcare, or early childhood education preferred
- CDA or ECE coursework is a plus
- Reliable, energetic, patient, and comfortable working as part of a team
- Must meet Michigan childcare licensing requirements
