Assistant Director - Early Childhood Education

The Learning Experience - Worcester, MA
Salary: $50,000-$60,000 per year, based on experience and qualifications
Schedule: Full-Time, Monday-Friday
Credential Required: Massachusetts Director I and Director II Qualified

The Learning Experience - Worcester is seeking an experienced and motivated Assistant Director to join our early childhood education leadership team.

This is an excellent opportunity for an early childhood professional who is ready to take the next step in leadership. Working alongside the Center Director, you'll support teachers, families, enrollment, and daily center operations while helping maintain a positive, high-quality learning environment.

Key Responsibilities

  •  Partner with the Center Director to support daily center operations 
  •  Recruit, interview, onboard, and support teaching staff 
  •  Assist with staff scheduling and maintain appropriate classroom ratios 
  •  Conduct classroom observations and provide coaching and feedback to teachers 
  •  Support implementation of The Learning Experience's L.E.A.P. Curriculum 
  •  Ensure compliance with Massachusetts EEC licensing, health, and safety requirements 
  •  Maintain required staff, training, and licensing documentation 
  •  Build strong relationships with children, families, and teaching teams 
  •  Conduct center tours and support prospective families through the enrollment process 
  •  Support enrollment growth, family engagement, and retention 
  •  Assist with day-to-day staff and family needs 
  •  Step into classrooms and provide operational support when needed 
  •  Help foster a positive culture of teamwork, accountability, and professional growth 
Qualifications

  •  Massachusetts Director I and Director II qualifications required 
  •  Previous leadership experience in a licensed childcare center, preschool, or early childhood education program preferred 
  •  Professional early childhood teaching experience required 
  •  Strong knowledge of Massachusetts EEC regulations and licensing requirements 
  •  Experience coaching and supporting early childhood educators 
  •  Strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills 
  •  Comfortable working with both current and prospective families 
  •  Ability to meet all applicable Massachusetts EEC requirements
