Afternoon Closing Teacher - Daycare & Preschool

The Learning Experience - Bushwick, Brooklyn, NY
Pay: $19-$21 per hour, based on experience
Schedule: Monday-Friday, Closing Shift

The final few hours of a child's school day matter just as much as the first.

The Learning Experience - Bushwick is seeking an experienced Afternoon Closing Teacher to support our classrooms and help create a positive, organized end to each day.

You'll work across classrooms as needed, engage children in afternoon activities, support teachers and ratios, and help ensure children and families receive a warm experience through closing time.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support classrooms during afternoon and closing hours
  • Engage children through play, stories, art, music, movement, and hands-on activities
  • Assist with snacks, transitions, and end-of-day routines
  • Provide classroom coverage and help maintain required ratios
  • Use positive guidance and age-appropriate classroom management
  • Build positive relationships with children and families
  • Assist with classroom cleaning, organization, and closing procedures
  • Communicate important information to teachers and center leadership
  • Follow New York licensing and center requirements
Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Previous professional childcare, daycare, preschool, or early childhood experience required
  • Comfortable supporting multiple classrooms and age groups
  • Reliable and consistently available for the closing shift
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
  • Must meet applicable New York licensing requirements
