Lead Teacher - 2-Year-Old Classroom
The Learning Experience - Byron Center, MI
Pay: $17-$20 per hour, based on experience and qualifications
Schedule: Full-Time, Monday-Friday, 9:00 AM-6:00 PM

Two-year-olds have big personalities, rapidly growing language skills, emerging independence, and endless curiosity. The Learning Experience - Byron Center is looking for an experienced Lead Teacher who knows how to channel all of that energy into learning.

You'll lead our 2-Year-Old classroom, creating consistent routines and engaging experiences while helping children develop communication, independence, friendships, and confidence.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead daily classroom routines and learning experiences
  • Implement The Learning Experience's L.E.A.P. Curriculum
  • Create hands-on experiences through art, sensory play, music, movement, language, and imaginative play
  • Encourage emerging independence and self-help skills
  • Support language and social-emotional development
  • Use positive guidance and developmentally appropriate classroom management
  • Support toileting, diapering, meals, rest time, and daily routines
  • Observe and document children's progress
  • Guide and collaborate with Assistant Teachers
  • Build strong relationships with children and families
  • Follow Michigan licensing and center requirements
Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Previous professional childcare or early childhood classroom experience required
  • Experience with toddlers or 2-year-olds strongly preferred
  • CDA, Early Childhood Education coursework, degree, or other qualifying credential preferred
  • Must meet Michigan requirements to serve as a Lead Caregiver
  • Reliable, energetic, patient, and confident managing a classroom
