Lead Teacher - 2-Year-Old Classroom
The Learning Experience - Beltline
Grand Rapids, MI
Pay: $17-$20 per hour, based on experience and qualifications
Schedule: Full-Time, Monday-Friday, 9:00 AM-6:00 PM

The Learning Experience - Beltline is looking for an experienced Lead Teacher for our 2-Year-Old classroom.

At two, children are building vocabulary, testing their independence, learning classroom routines, and discovering how to navigate friendships and emotions. We're looking for a teacher who understands this unique stage and can turn children's natural curiosity into meaningful learning.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead an engaging classroom designed for active 2-year-olds
  • Implement The Learning Experience's L.E.A.P. Curriculum
  • Provide hands-on experiences through art, sensory play, music, movement, language, and imaginative play
  • Encourage communication, self-help skills, and growing independence
  • Support children's social-emotional development
  • Use positive guidance and consistent classroom expectations
  • Support toileting, diapering, meals, rest time, and daily routines
  • Observe and document children's development
  • Guide and collaborate with Assistant Teachers
  • Build positive relationships with families
  • Follow Michigan licensing and center requirements
Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Previous professional childcare or early childhood classroom experience required
  • Experience working with toddlers or 2-year-olds strongly preferred
  • CDA, Early Childhood Education coursework, degree, or other qualifying credential preferred
  • Must meet Michigan requirements to serve as a Lead Caregiver
  • Patient, energetic, dependable, and confident leading a classroom
