The Learning Experience
Grand Rapids, MI
Pay: $17-$18 per hour, based on experience
Schedule: Full-Time, Monday-Friday
- Prepare and serve meals and snacks according to established menus and schedules
- Follow appropriate portion sizes and meal requirements
- Maintain a clean, sanitary, and organized kitchen
- Properly store, label, rotate, and monitor food and supplies
- Follow food safety and sanitation procedures
- Maintain awareness of children's food allergies and dietary restrictions
- Distribute meals and snacks to classrooms
- Wash dishes and maintain kitchen equipment and food preparation areas
- Monitor food and supply inventory and communicate ordering needs
- Maintain required food service documentation
- Work collaboratively with teachers and center leadership
- Follow Michigan childcare, health, sanitation, and food safety requirements
- Previous professional cooking, kitchen, or food preparation experience preferred
- Experience preparing meals for children, schools, childcare programs, or group settings is a plus
- Knowledge of food safety, sanitation, and proper food storage practices
- Food safety certification preferred
- Dependable, organized, and able to work independently
- Comfortable managing documented food allergies and dietary restrictions
- Must meet applicable Michigan requirements for the position
- $17-$18 per hour, based on experience
- Consistent full-time Monday-Friday schedule
- No restaurant nights or weekends
