The purpose of this document is to outline the specifications and responsibilities of the Infant Caregiver for The Learning Experience®.

Reporting Responsibilities: The Infant Caregiver reports directly to the Center Director.

Job Description:
The Infant Caregiver will plan, implement, and supervise the infant care program as designated by The Learning Experience® while demonstrating exceptional professional conduct and consideration for the safety and well being of the children. The Infant Caregiver will serve in a co-teaching capacity based on center enrollment.

Qualifications:
The Infant Caregiver must comply with the minimum educational standards as set forth by the company and current governmental regulations.

Experience:
Previous experience caring for infants ages 6 weeks to one year.

Requirements and Certifications:
 Must be at least 18 years of age
 Be of good character and reputation
 Be of sufficient physical, mental and emotional health to perform job duties satisfactorily
 Must be able to lift a minimum of 25 lbs
 Possess skills, attributes and characteristics conducive to and suitable for dealing with children
 Must speak English well enough to communicate with children, staff, management and parents
 Must be able to read and write English well enough to prepare, complete and maintain administrative forms and records as required by current governmental regulations and company policies and procedures.
 Knowledge of infant growth and development
 Satisfy the mandatory physical and background checks as required by State and company regulations and policies
 Infant CPR (Suggested)

Working Conditions:
The Infant Caregiver shall be primarily assigned to a single childcare center and be able to provide care during normal center hours and adhere to a schedule that may include evenings and weekends.

 Primary Responsibilities:
First and foremost the Infant Caregiver’s responsibility will be to maintain the safety and well-being of the children and staff while implementing the Infant program in alignment with company policies, philosophies, and procedures.

Primary responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:
 Demonstrate a working knowledge of all current governmental rules and regulations that pertain to the operation of The Learning Experience centers
 Demonstrate a thorough understanding of all policies and procedures contained in the Operations Manual, Employee Handbook, Student Enrollment Packet, and Curriculum Guides
 Must implement and follow all infant care procedures as mandated in the current governmental rules and regulations and company policies and procedures
 Compile individual observation and feeding/diapering reports on a daily basis, maintaining a file on each child as well as supplying the parents with the daily communication letter
 Report all incidents immediately to the Center Director filing the appropriate forms and working with the Center Director for resolve and classroom improvement
 Maintain “Tour Ready” classroom
 Attend meetings as requested

Secondary Responsibilities:
 Support center staff as requested
 Help to maintain the general appearance of the center and its common areas

Measures of Performance:
The Infant Caregiver’s performance will be deemed acceptable when he/she:
 Implements the infant program and manages an infant room to the satisfaction of the Area Director, The Center Director and the Corporate Office
 Demonstrates the ability to communicate well with children, parents, staff and management
 Maintains a professional appearance and attitude at all times  Resolves issues in a timely manner 
 Follows procedural and record keeping duties accurately and efficiently  Understands the needs of the children 
 Handles criticism and suggestions in a professional manner

Compensation: $16.00 - $17.00 per hour
